When identical twins get older, they do develop some visual idiosyncrasies.   But when they’re kids, you’d have to be a parent to tell them apart.  Seeing them briefly and for the first time, as I do at a birthday party, is uncanny.  As a caricaturist, I’ve learned to anticipate all sorts of challenges and this one I solved very early in my career: the way not to make myself cross-eyed while drawing identical twins, is to draw one front view and one in profile.  Voila!  It becomes a documentation of their bewitching identity.  For kids who deal with the perplexed faces of other adults day in day out, this comes as a surprise, since for once, an adult sort of outwitted them.  This is fun.
