There’s no need for anyone to be this beautiful!  And smart and charming…

Face painters and caricaturists were set up on the balcony.  Great view! This was in the Indiana Roof Ballroom at 140 W.Washington. The place to see and be seen.

I worked in full color, which was a treat for both me and the guests.  Everybody was beautiful and felt beautiful. A glittering event. I asked one of the  women what her favorite color was.  She said, glitter.

It was a privilege to be invited to participate.  People stood in line to be drawn and often got drawn by more than one caricaturist.  I, as happens so often, stayed overtime, by—how shall I put it—popular demand.  My pleasure!  Thank you, all.

And thank you, Drew.————————————————-

This was a beautifully organized party for Alexis’s seventh birthday.  The theme was art, Alexis’s favorite thing. Mom had set up art projects to engage in.  The cake plates were palettes. The goody bag was all about being inspired and inventive. How lovely!

Thank you, Christie!

And now up to Dawson’s in Brownsburg for the retirement party of a General Surgeon & Chief Medical Officer at a teaching hospital nearby.  Medical types work very hard at, you know, life-and-death matters.  They need to laugh out loud every now and then. So, naturally, to make that happen the son found me.

The guest of honor’s alma mater was Butler and he’s still a devoted basketball fan. You can find him in the gallery below, dribbling crosscourt.

But I’m leading with some lab people, who came out funniest of the whole bunch, don’t you think?

Thank you, Michael.

Getting adults to crack up is wonderful, but to see kids lose it when they see the drawing is out of this world. Look at those faces!  This is the moment I work for.

The parents were geologists and environmentalists. I love drawing smart people who have an unshakable sense of humor. Look how relaxed everybody is! They just let me do my thing and, you know, that’s the really the only way to pose for a caricaturist.  Abandon all hope, ye who enter here, hahaha.

This was a company picnic last September, my first gig in Cincinnati after moving to Indiana from Chicago.  Fernbank Park is on the Ohio and it’s glorious.  I’m staying.

Thank you, Chris.
