Held on the family farm in yes, Wauconda,  the Crown 13Crown15Picnic features a white tent that, I’m guessing after counting the long tables, accommodates five-hundred people, at least.  What else? Oh, fine food, glass stem ware, table cloths and table napkins, buckets of cherries and the best chocolate chip cookies this side of the Blummer Chocolate Factory.  What else? Pony rides for the kids, also rides on hay wagons, a stilt walker a fantastic magician, the Banjo Buddies, face painters galore and caricature artists, ditto.  It really is la crème de la crème of picnics.  I’m among the eight 13Crown18caricaturists who have been doing this fabulous event for the past ten years.  I get to draw my biggest fans every year: Brigid, Fred, Joan, Boots, Cherrie, to mention a few.  Sigh. See you all next year and Peter & Carla, you better be there, I missed you this year!

Shown here are just a few of the dozens I drew that afternoon.—————————————————–
