Planning a wedding can be stressful. It’s advisable to GlenEllyn2relax the evening before the big day. What better way than to laugh out loud! Laughter is therapeutic and supremely relaxing. I know these people all looked their best for the wedding the next day. Thank you, Sue.

PascalBI drew twenty-six dental hygienists at the Hyatt. (A funny sentence. Say it fast.) It was their convention and the tables were full of pokey, sharp tools. It must have been a relief for these women (almost all were women) to find Pascal Dental, for whom I worked that afternoon, to sit down for 5 minutes for a caricature by– ta-tah!—that famous Chicago caricaturist and have a good therapeutic, stress-relieving belly laugh. I tend to think that a sense of humor is a sign of superior intelligence (an occupational bias of mine) and so I came away with

PascalAthe feeling that these dental hygienists all have more brain power than is required for picking the right scraping tool after they say, “open wide.”
I love their reactions and that’s what you see here. You can tell from the drawings that I had as much fun as they did during those two hours. Thank you, Steve and Juliana.

And what about this trio? What could be the dynamic in that office?  They thought this was a riot!————-

45thAnniversaryWhat do you give your parents on their 45th wedding anniversary? You present them with a drawing that shows their quirkiness, their goofiness, their vitality. The drawing is nothing. What matters is that they will scream with laughter, they will throw their heads back, they will point to parts of the drawing and say omygod, omygod and they will reach for a Kleenex because they’re laughing so hard that they’re crying. That moment is your gift to them.
45thAnniversarySemiFinalBtw, before I do the final drawing you have approved every detail. On the right is the drawing in the last stage of the work process. This is what the daughter approved and this is what I traced on a light table to produce the drawing that became the gift to her parents. The process works very well.
