…beautiful and smart. The guys were –surprise!—engineers. They had dramatic eyebrows, just for me, obviously.  The women were—surprise!—more beautiful than anybody needs to be.  And they were into color. One sari was hand painted by the wearer. She and I talked shop. The kids were, yes, you know, just beautiful.  A great way to spend an afternoon. That’s my job!

The staff deserved this evening of rock ‘n’roll.  The theme was the eighties, that would be the decade of the 1980’s.  You know, neon, bright colors, huge dangling earrings, legwarmers, etc.  The band was jumping, the nurses and nurses’ aids and social workers were rocking.  I drew them and then many of the large contingent of Indian women who showed up in glittering saris.  What fun!

Btw,”Snehal” means “love” in Gujarati.
